memory trading

In other stolen blog post ideas, I am stealing this fun little tag from Tiffany. First because it is fun reflecting on the fun times we have shared together and secondly because I would love to hear what others remember about me. If we know each other in real life then please share whatever you can think of. I'm pretty sure the Voice of Reason will mention something about my encounter with Jay Leno . . . an embarrasing tale I may recount one day. If you only know me virtually, throw out a favorite post because that counts too.

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, if we’ve actually met in person or not, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments.

I have three memories of you and your Supreme Baking Skillz.

1. You volunteered to bring the February snack to writing group and showed up with the most decadent and beautifully displayed cupcakes I'd ever seen. And then, of course, I tasted them and died of pure joy.

2. Next, I was privy to my own personal red velvet cupcake cooking demonstration in your apartment when we were roommates for a weekend. You were getting ready for your annual dessert party and I was soooo impressed with all your details. You sent three mini cupcakes with me in a ziploc on my way to the airport. I ate them all within five minutes of my cab ride. Sorry, couldn't help it.

3. Finally, I'll never forget your surprise visit to my house on my birthday this year. I was on the verge of feeling bad for myself when you called and showed up with a generous gift. We made cupcakes again and stayed up way too late talking.

Three great memories. Can't wait to make more!

I remember you at Emily's wedding shower. You gave her something pink from Victoria's Secret. (Unless I completely up in the night and someone else gave her the pretty pink gift.) Whatever you gave her, you were there and so was I. Hope we can meet each other again someday.

if that pretty pink gift was wrapped in a mumu, then it was from me (and others). If not, at least you remember that I was there which is impressive, that was a loooong time ago!

I don't have a very good memory but I clearly remember the time that you and Liz forced me to go out with your brother.
*I also remember at Liz's baby shower when you all thought you were hilarious wearing nursing pads on the outside of your shirts during the shower.
*I also have memories of you all showing up at my house "dressed" to go greet people at the airport.
*I also remember going to a region dance with you all and being absolutely mortified.

I remember when you and Liz and Emily decided to grace SUU with your presence. When we arrived at the housing area, there was a snafu with the housing assignments and the housing manager tried to assign you three to a less desirable apartment than originally planned. I remember Liz getting a really sad look on her face and Emily acting like whatever. I just knew I was going to have to fight another battle for Liz and her room mates when I was assured by your mom that you would handle this situation. With veins sticking out on the side of your neck and with a look on your face that would have scared Ted Bundy straight, you stormed into the housing office and gave me the first hint of what kind of attorney you would be. In a few minutes you appeared with a rather smug look on your face, the housing manager following at a safe distance while muttering an heart-felt apology for the mix up. I was at once relieved knowing I would not be involved. I remember looking over at your Mom and she just shrugged he shoulders as to say I told you so.

P.S Someday I will show up at your office with my camera.

I remember making Boris and Natasha Halloween costumes with you in the creepy coffin-shaped house and using someone's (now, whose was it? :)) old bridesmaid dresses for Natasha's curiously slashed up dress . . .
